I have been tutoring Electronic Keyboard playing since 2010. As a Student earlier, I have taken up my Keyboard exams in Trinity College Syllabus and Piano Exams in ABRSM. So, I believe I have gone through listening to and playing pieces from all these universities. In LCM Syllabus, I have always felt my students are well connected with the pieces they opt to play, They are able to relate their learning of current grade pieces with their previous grade pieces and understand in what aspects they have improved. LCM examiners have always been very supportive to the students during examinations have calmed my students’ nerves and have encouraged them to play in positive spirits and give out their best performances. Frequent workshops by LCM regarding examination processes have been reassuring to me as a teacher. LCM exam results have been very consistent for my students through their journey from Grade 1 to Grade 5. As a result, my students and I are unambiguous about what is expected out of students during an exam and what the examiners are trying to assess in a student’s performance.
